  3. Considering you only get a Dishonorable Discharge for something very serious, such as manslaughter, murder, or friendly fire incidents due to gross negligence, they wouldn’t really DESERVE Army money, would they?

  4. A person who receives a Dishonorable Discharge is not eligible to receive GI Bill assistance with college tuition. That right was taken away when he received the DD.
That person may still attend college, but he cannot receive GI Bill assistance.
He may be able to file for other types of government aid/tuition assistance however.

  7. A dishonorable discharge is only given after a court martial conviction. This is the same as a felony conviction in civilian court. There are no benefits due this person that I am aware of, and deservedly so. You should pick better friends.

  8. well if he dishonored the military, i doubt they want to go spending money on him. that’s like letting Charlie Manson outta jail and giving a mansion and a trust fund to go with it.

  9. NO he loses all of the benefits that come with honorable service with a dishonorable discharge, even the use of some government grants. all fo this should have been explained to them when they were discharged but like most people that got out that way they just wanted out and just let it go in one ear and out the other. But just in case he wants to they can go to VA.gov and look at what they lost. He can have it upgraded and go from there see the link below
